Halloween Decorating
Just a quick decorating post!
I wanted to make a dessert for Halloween that somehow went with the theme without using orange, because I was also making orange cakeballs! I settled on trying to give cheesecake brownies a spiderweb-like appearance. I tried two different approaches with the different pans. Though the one big spiderweb seemed like the more impressive presentation, it was much more difficult to get the layers of brownie and cheesecake to spread with the right ratios... Still, I liked the results overall!
If you're wondering what my approach was, it was pretty basic: I put down a base layer of brownie batter, then began alternating dollops of cheesecake and brownie, smoothing them out as I went. Finally, I created the web shape by dragging a toothpick out from the center. Simple! The only difficult part was getting the batters to behave, because the cheesecake and brownie batters have significantly different textures... I think it worked out alright, though!
If you're interested in the recipe I used, by the way, I went with this one.
And apologies for the lack of dazzling photos - these were eaten about 5 minutes after the pictures were taken!
