Cheese Crackers
Time for a baked savory snack!
This is one of those recipes that makes me want to have a food processor at all times.
The texture of the crackers varies depending on the thickness of your dough and how finely you pulsed it at the beginning. The original recipe imitates Goldfish crackers, but I decided to try making some mock-up Cheez-its!
Of course, they didn't quite turn out the same way aesthetically.
Still delicious though! I actually enjoyed these most when they were warm, fresh out of the oven.
Homemade Goldfish Crackers from TastyKitchen
Ingredients
8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
4 tbsp butter, cubed
1 cup flour
3/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp cold water
Directions
1. Pulse everything (except water) together in the food processor until the dough resembles coarse sand.
2. Pulse in water, 1 tablespoon at a time.
3. Remove dough from the processor, wrap in plastic, and chill for 20 minutes.
4. Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes. Place on a lined cookie sheet.
5. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 15 minutes, or until crispy.
